Wat heb ik aan dit boek?

Als een echte Harry Potter-fan kon ik het hele boek door alleen maar glimlachen. Tom Felton, die de rol van Draco Malfoy speelde, neemt je mee achter de schermen van Harry Potter. Hij vertelt je over de leuke dingen die hij daar heeft meegemaakt, maar ook over de minder leuke dingen. Zo blijkt al snel dat het niet altijd een pretje is om op jonge leeftijd beroemd te zijn. Het gaat echter niet alleen over Harry Potter, het gaat over zoveel meer. Zijn leven voor Harry Potter, de band met zijn familie, over de foute keuzes in zijn leven, over na Harry Potter en over zijn alcoholverslaving.
Kortom, een prachtige biografie over de fantastische acteur Tom Felton.

Schrijfstijl

Enerzijds zit er een chronologische opbouw in het boek, maar anderzijds ook weer niet. Tom begint wel degelijk over zijn jeugd en familie voordat hij begon met acteren. Langzaamaan wordt hij ouder en wordt Harry Potter een groot onderdeel van zijn biografie. Toch blikt Tom ook regelmatig weer terug op gebeurtenissen die zich eerder hebben afgespeeld in zijn leven. Zo begint hij ineens weer over een voorval uit zijn jeugd, maar die terugblikken zijn dan wel weer logisch. Het heeft namelijk wel te maken met de gebeurtenissen die hij eerst beschreef.
